All New Paris Weekly …

I’ve been traveling for the last few weeks and used that opportunity to find a new blogging site.  I felt it was time for a fresh look.  So let me know what you think … is this new site better? Worse?

Some highlights from the last few weeks …

Photographed the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament again.  It’s always bizarre in who you see together out there; this year my favorite was Alice Cooper with Dan Quayle, although Huey Lewis with Yogi Berra was a close second.

Alice Cooper

Witnessed a robbery at my local AT&T store.  While I was in the store talking to a representative, some guy came in wearing a hooded sweatshirt and quickly, using some kind of knife, cut the cables that were securing both the 8GB & 16GB iPhones that were on display and ran out with them.  Maybe the most shocking thing was that the guy working there told us it’s the THIRD time that it’s happened.

Spent a fantastic few days up in the Bay area visiting with a phenomenal friend and his family.  The trip started with a total power outage at the Long Beach airport that resulted in a 2-hour delay.  It was comical watching the security running around not knowing exactly what they should be doing in this situation.

My stay included great local food (thanks Tammi!), lots of laughing (thanks to Bruce Springsteen, Buck Owens, Racebook, goats and all the locals around Valley Ford), fun with Grady, lucid, clear-thinking discussions, excellent wine on the terrace of Gourmet au Bay at sunset, a small gathering of some college fraternity brothers and a random meeting of a  girl who happens to live a few blocks away from me in Paris.  Good times.

Went to check out a friend of mine do some sheep herding.  The most surprising part for me was that it was in … LONG BEACH!  Who knew?  My friend brings his dog every week and, along with a group of colorful characters, participates in sessions where the owners and their dogs have a ball rounding up some rather nimble sheep.

It’s a rather obscure activity in a very obscure location but was entertaining to watch.  To see more sheep herding images, CLICK HERE.

I’m sure there’s a lot I’m forgetting but oh well.  We’ll start fresh with this new blog site.

I’m heading off to shoot Prince’s Oscar party this evening so hopefully I’ll have some entertaining photos for you next week.
