Bruno, Woody, Katy, Seeing Stars and Father’s Day …

This week brought a couple of movie premieres and a concert (among so much else) to Paris as tourist season has most definitely started. The craziest premiere was of course for Sacha Baron Cohen’s new film “Bruno”.

Cohen arrived in some outrageous getup and proceeded to do a bit of a performance in front of the cinema on the Champs-Elysees; I managed to videotape some of it so if you’d like to see it, CLICK HERE.

I have to say the man knows how to create a buzz for his films and even more, he’s really not shy.

A much more boring premiere I shot this week was for Woody Allen’s new film “Whatever Works”. It was quite a small affair with just Woody, his wife and actress Evan Rachel Wood.

Singer Katy Perry gave a concert at the famed Olympia Hall (somehow) and despite the fact that I didn’t pay any attention to her music, she managed to at least give a photographically interesting performance. I’m pretty sure that I wouldn’t have wanted to actually be in the crowd listening to her music though.

My favorite French story of the week is not quite French, but close by in Belgium:

A horrified Belgian woman woke up in a tattoo parlor with 56 stars covering the left side of her face, after, she claims, she only asked for 3, The Daily Mail reports.

And finally, wishes to all the fathers out there (particularly MINE !) on this Father’s Day 2009. Kind of cool that fathers get the longest day of the year to celebrate it!
