My apartment in Paris is still available to be rented from August 24 through Sept 30. It’s a great opportunity for someone to come to Paris for a late summer visit. Don’t hesitate to contact me for more information. To see some images of the apartment, CLICK HERE.

Lots of action this last week. The always anticlimactic conclusion of the Tour de France happened along the Champs-Elysees, where Spain’s Alberto Contador won his second straight Tour.

It was fun watching Lance Armstrong compete again; coming in third place when you’re 12 years older than the winner seems pretty good to me. And I have to admit that I was more inspired than usual watching him ride on TV while pedaling on my exercise bike at the gym!

The opening of the Paris Plages, another annual ritual in Paris, also took place this week.

Turning the banks of the Seine into a “beach” with sand could seem like a tacky idea but I think it works; not so much for the beach part but just because it gives people more open space to walk around without the threat/noise of cars and with cooler temperatures along the water. And lots of great activities and sites for kids.

Denzel Washington passed through Paris promoting his film “The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3”. He and director Tony Scott held a photocall in the beautiful courtyard of the Hotel Bristol along rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore.

Big news of the week: Sunday shopping is coming to France … probably. My favorite part of this news is that it still has to pass through a committee which will rule on its constitutionality!!! To read more on this, CLICK HERE.

Special note: this week brought grand visitors to Paris … my mother and brother. 🙂
