Tour de France and Hianging Out …

The British came to France and dominated the Tour de France, placing 1st, 2nd and winning the final stage of the race. It was really their year. Bradley Wiggins became, surprisingly, the first Briton to ever win the race; his compatriot Christopher Froome finished second and Isle of Man man Mark Cavendish won the 20th stage, crossing the finish line first along the Champs-Elysees.

I took my position in the center of the Champs-Elysees and shot as the riders did 8 laps around the Arc de Triomphe, Place de la Concorde and other Paris monuments. There’s a good spirit at the event as the streets are filled with fans of whoever’s going to win the overall race, which is always determined the day before the final stage.

British Fan – Tour de France

Rediscovered a recently relocated and re-renovated restaurant (big fan of alliterations) worth trying if you looking for something different in Paris. The place is called Tien Hiang and its an Asian restaurant that is completely vegetarian. They serve dishes of “beef”, “chicken”, “fish” etc but all of these are made from soy. The surprising thing is that almost everything is delicious. The dishes come from Vietnam, Thailand, Southern China, Malaysia and Singapore. For those Singaporeans out there, they even make a laksa soup.
